Nina

Nina had not chosen a good spot to build her web...

Nina

Nina had chosen a rather inconvenient place to build her cobweb: Between the garage light and the top of my car.

Nina is a Common House Spider who likes to hang upside down.

Unfortunately, I had to call her out.

Me: "Hey, you can’t build your web here."

Nina: "Why not? It’s perfect. Plenty of opportunities here."

Me: "I know, but I have to go to the store."

Nina: "You can walk."

Me: "No, I can’t. The store closes in 15'."

Nina: "Why don’t you just build a web and catch your groceries that way?"

Me: "You know I can't do that. I’m going to have to remove your anchors."

Nina: "It took me hours to set this up."

Nina builds a 3-dimensional, messy web

Me: "This mess took you hours?"

Nina: "You’re a barbarian."

Me: "Just don’t attach it to the car, next time!"

Nina: "What do YOU know about web-building?"

The conversation was going nowhere, and the store was about to close. I untethered the silk attachments from the top of my car, as gently as I could. Nina ran up and pulled the strands towards her.

Nina retrieved her silk. Common House Spiders are not known to eat their web, unlike Orb Weavers.

Me: "I'll be back."

Nina: "Since you’re going to the store, can you get me some crickets? The small ones."
