White-Checkered Skipper
Skippers look like moths, but they are actually butterflies.
First close-ish encounter with what should be a White-Checkered Skipper.
They have a stout body, and are generally quite small. Skippers are part of the large Hesperiidae family, and while they look like moths, they are not actually moths.
